Polkas and Waltzes have been a big part of music in the ethnically rich Midwest. Several organizations have fostered strong support for German, Czech, and Slovak styles of music in the greater Twin Cities area. We recognized a need for greater support of Polish style of Polkas and Waltzes in the area. For this reason, the Midwest Polka Association (MPA) was established in 2003.

The MPA sponsors a number of activities (dances, picnics, bus trips, and other events) supporting Polish style music. The MPA, along with its website, also publishes a bi-monthly newsletter covering dances, band schedules, websites, email addresses, venues veaturing Polka music, and articles highlighting contributions to the Polka world.

Awards have been presented to several members that have exhibited exceptional contributions in support of our organization.

The MPA has generated a strong following with a membership of over 800 located coast to coast from New York to California as well as in Canada.

We invite you to join us in our quest to support our style of music in the greater Twin Cities area!
